This project started off 2 years ago when I wanted to create my own screensavers for my pc. I decided on car renders, and thought about doing some of my current car at the time (VW GTI) but decided it's 3d and can do whatever I want, so I went with my dream car.

This project taught me more than just finding cool angles to show off a car. Lighting is so important. It can either show off the lines, or cause awful and distracting bright spots. I also wanted to really focus on realism so I had been doing so much sci-fi and fictional settings. This meant getting better with texturing, like how to correctly use a composite texture in octane, allowing for multiple materials to stack on each other so an asphalt texture is broken up with cracks and imperfections to hide repetition. Or how putting the mask of your water puddle texture into its bump channel so it looks like it's gradually getting more stuck in the asphalt rocks. I learned how to make a dirt and asphalt road, and feel more confident creating more realistic looking forests (at least when looking from above)

It's my dream car. So many weird things about it (like the front that can't be opened, even though the engine is in the back) so much that could be improved. But beautiful as hell.

One day I will own one.
